Tajuk Ggapo?

Dengan Nama Allah Yang Maha Pemurah Lagi Maha Mengasihani...

Setiap kali nak update, nampak gambar Tok Ayoh ni, maka hilang lah rasa excited nak update; timbul rasa sedih..

Tok Ayoh ni bagi aku ada 2 pangkat:

1) Tok tiri (bapa tiri ayahku);

2) Moyang saudara (dia adalah datuk saudara kepada nenekku sebelah Ma, i.e adik bongsu moyang ku sebelah Ma);

Orang Kelate kato - "Alek tu, alek ni jjadi blako"

Oleh kerana tak pernah kenal tok yang sebenar (malah ayah ku pun tak sempat kenal ayahnya sendiri), jadi celik-celik mata jer, selain atok sebelah Ma yang ku panggil Che', ini lah atokku..

According to Ma, Tok Ayoh sayang banget sama aku.

Memang seingat aku, sejak kecil aku ni suka berkepit dengan Tok Ayoh, orang lain tak berani sebab Tok Ayoh ni garang. Bila Tok Ayoh jahit atap nipah, aku ada temankan dia atas "gerey" (pangkin) bawah pohon "sseto" (manggis), bila Tok Ayoh raut buluh (ke batang sagu?? dah lupa), aku setia "dok ccongok" tepi Tok Ayoh; bila dia dok mesin kepingan getah, aku menempek kat bawah pokok jering sambil main congkak..bila dia ke kebun seberang tali-air, aku pun ikut naik rakit..dia jemur padi, aku tukang tunggu hambat ayam-itik.

Semoga roh Tok Ayoh ditempatkan bersama roh para solehin.

First Lesson

In my previous entry, I mentioned about Kamus Pintar Soleh which I wrote there was something interesting could be shared here.

I found the so-called “interesting thing” on the page where the author has put the title as Metode Penggunaan Kamus. The author has made an anology which in my humble opinion is very beautiful i.e about Prophet Adam’s first lesson in heaven.

I am sure you remember the verses in surah Al-Baqarah (verses 31-33) telling us that Allah has taught Adam the names of things and their usage.

The author wrote further:

MasterTeacher: Allah s.w.t
Student: Nabi Adam a.s
Class: Heaven
Subject: Name of things

The author mentioned that this method used by Allah, The Al-Mighty is indeed the first and foremost prominent, superior, excellent education. Allah has firstly taught Prophet Adam a.s not a grammar or how to compose a sentence/comprehension. Instead, He taught him the name of things which could be found in heaven. (We call them as “pronouns” or Kata Nama today).

The creation of Prophet Adam a.s was like a newborn baby. He was oblivious of his surroundings. Thus, the first lesson that was given to Prophet Adam a.s was to know the name of objects in heaven.

Soon, the collection of those pronouns helped him to know his environment in heaven. But to converse, he needs another element, i.e verb. When there’re enough pronouns had been identified, the verbs joint the pronouns to make sense. That’s how all the languages had started.

As I read this page, I started to put two and two together and finally one obvious thing came to my mind. Masya-Allah, I realized that the method which I learned years ago is actually originated from here! From the day Allah, The Mighty Creator created the first human being; He actually showed us how to teach someone to read!!!!!

But, unfortunately at that time I didn’t know that it was originated from Al-Quran. It should not came as surprised knowing that Al-Quran is the ultimate source of knowledge. The solutions of every single problem on earth are all there in our Holy Book, Al-Quranul Kareem. We just have to read and find the answer.

Years ago, I bought a few books by Glenn Doman. I believe many of you have heard this name . (If you are hearing this name for the first time, connect to the net and put the name on engine search).

The first book I bought was How To Teach Your Baby to Read. Now, do you remember how you got to learn how to read? Honestly, I didn’t. But, I remember had been introduced to the alphabets from A to Z. Generally, this is how we teach our children how to read i.e by introducing the alphabets first.

This is “A”. “A” for apple.
This is “B”. “B” for book.

According to Glenn Doman, there are several steps how we can teach our children to read but am not going to elaborate the method here. Again, you can search for yourself. But among the steps is to introduce the proper nouns (not the alphabets!) with familiar vocabularies. For instance, use body parts as the vocabularies like head, nose, arms, toes, fingers, etc etc. Then show the picture of these words. Then only much later, you can separate the words into alphabets. It doesn’t matter which alphabets you start first. The system later on shall develop according to the pronouns/vocabularies that we introduce to our children. Then, it will develop into proper sentence (by adding the verbs), so on and so forth.

I taught all of my children how to read using this method. I can assure you that this system works!!! (of course it is, now that the evidence is right smack on our face, isn’t it?). Only after 10 years, I came to know that this method has been there for 1400 years!!!!!! And I read the Holy Quran almost everyday for the whole my almost-38 years! (and I didn’t even know it??). What a shame!

This shows that we have to do something to get the full benefit from Al-Quranul Kareem. It is our responsibilities to dig and use the treasures inside the Quran. Yesterday, I read about the tafseer on Surah An-Nur, verse 40. This verse is actually telling us about the Marine Geology. One expert on Marine Geology has commented:

“It is difficult to imagine that this type of knowledge was existing at the time around 1400 years back. Maybe some of the things they have simple ideas about such, but to describe those things in GREAT DETAILS is very difficult. So, this is definitely NOT A SIMPLE HUMAN KNOWLEDGE…” (if you are interested to read more on this, you can click to http://www.thisistruth.org/truth.php?f=SeasAndOceans )

On Sunday morning, I watched Yusuf Estes’ video (and before that Joshua Evans) discussing the same thing. And I was shameful that I have born a Muslim, been living as a Muslim (Insya-Allah) but I have never, never know the depth of the God’s words; what’s actually the meaning of the verses that I have been reading again and again and again day by day…Masya-Allah, Subhanallah. Can’t you see how beautiful Allah is? So, my friends before its too late, let us start a new beginning of our lives. Let us start to search more and hence Insya-Allah, we pray to Him that we shall become a better, knowledgeable Muslims.

There are so much more to learn so that we can be a better servant to Allah, The Mighty Creator. If we look around and see with our hearts, we have to admit that the Muslim Converts are much better da’ie than us who were born as Muslims. There are a much, much better Muslims that we are. All we probably do or did is putting a ritual without really understand. For example, how many of us have upgraded our solat from a 20-years old solat to a 38 years old?? (put you own age). I have 18 years of range, of opportunities to improve my solat but most likely my solat is not much better than the one I did 18 years ago. Have we understood all the meanings of all the rukuns in our solat? Understand what we read in our solat? What’s the meaning of every move? Have we perfected our Al-Fatihah??? Most likely, the one read by the Muslim converts are much, much better than us.

This is a pretty long post. This is what I had been thinking over the weekend and I hope by sharing this piece of mind will trigger something in you, the readers. Insya-Allah, together we strive to be a better Muslim.

She's Six Years Old!

This is my youngest. Alhamdulillah, she's six years old today!!! Pejam-celik dah besar dah, tapi lumrah lah kalau yang bongsu ni ada lagi mengada-ngada tu..

FERYAL NASEEMAH nama diberi..this photo was taken when she was 2 weeks old. Masa kecik lagi dah "vocal". Sekarang pun masih begitu. Abangnya banyak mengalah dengan anak kecil ni. Mungkin masa pregnant kan dia, I was very active, selalu jumpa orang dan banyak bercakap-cakap (I was doing direct selling then, hehehehe). Hinggakan Ummi pun tak larat nak layan..hilang sabar pun ya kengkadang tu kalau dia buat perangai..

On other notes:

Biasalah manusia ni, kalau time kerja rasa nak baring dan golek-golek jer. Bila dah cuti ada peluang boleh buat macam tu, tak mau pulak badan ni nak landing. Kalau landing pun sekejap jer sebab kerja rumah yang berderet-deret menunggu..

Anyway, this week is quite a productive one for me. Quite a few things have been accomplished - school works, houseworks and hobbies. Hobbies are important to wind-down at the end of the day. I make it a point to indulge myself into something that I love to do, no matter how busy I am just to keep my sanity intact. Tak kisahlah walau pun cuma sekejap yang penting "me-time" tu ada.

Yesterday afternoon we attended a wedding. Jemputan daripada restaurant owner within our neighbourhood. Semoga Allah memberkati kedua mempelai.

Coming next weekend, we have another jemputan. Yang ni pulak from ex-colleague dan bekas anak-didikku. So, fikir-fikir apalah yang nak dijadikan hadiah ya?

Boleh sign up jadi ahli then dapat member card.

Dah kat sana rasa "menggigil" sebab I have to restrain myself from buying books. Yang dibeli hanya satu. Yang nak buat hadiah tu ingat nak beli dekat office penerbitnya. Biasanya ada diskaun. Yang dibeli ialah yang ni:

I found out this book not only good for children but also good for adults yang baru berjinak2 untuk belajar bahasa Arab. There's another Arabic dictionary from the same publisher (Kamus Al-Farid)that I want to buy but the price is a tad high so that one have to wait. I have to satisfy myself with this one, insya-Allah ada rezeki lain kali kita beli-lah.
